A laser can be used to remove lines, pigmentation, irregularities and, to a certain extent, scars or to improve their appearance. In most cases, the procedure needs to be carried out under local anesthesia. The area of skin treated should be redressed daily for one to two weeks and should not be tanned for three to six months following the procedure.
